Try Try Again

We had our consult with Dr. Craig a couple of weeks ago. Everything went fairly well until implantation. The embryo development was a little delayed, so they weren't in the blastocyte stage when they were implanted. The next time we try we may do a split cycle if it happens again. That means that in one menstrual cycle they would harvest the eggs and create the embryos, allow them to mature to the blastocyte stage then freeze them. Then, in my next menstrual cycle, the embryos would be thawed and implanted. If that doesn't work, there's always the possibility of adopting embryos, but there is a waiting list of about 14 months to do so. My estrogen was also low normal, so I'll start supplementing my estrogen earlier in the process.

Bad News Bad News

Friday was a bad day. We found out that I am not pregnant and my husband went back in the hospital. It's not unusual for IVF to take several tries to result in pregnancy. The next step is to schedule a summary consultation with the doctor and find out if he recommends trying again. We had good luck through implantation, so I would be surprised if he didn't recommend trying again. Luckily, my husband came home quickly. So, we'll be able to schedule our summary consultation this week.

Hadas Hazan

Hadas Hazan

Today I met a wonderful young artist, Hadas Hazan, and purchased several of her paintings. She's from Israel, but currently travelling through the US. Her work is beautiful. I look forward to framing and hanging her work in my home.
